President Guo Jianhua Led a Delegation to Visit Universities in Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan
From September 21 to 27, 2025, at the invitation of Tashkent State Technical University, Samarkand State University, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, and Almaty Technological University, Guo Jianhua, President of BTBU, led a delegation to visit universities in Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. The delegation reached broad consensus with partner institutions on building joint research platforms under the Belt and Road Initiative, implementing joint student training programs, and signing cooperation agreements and MoU.

During the Uzbekistan visits (September 21–24), President Guo met with counterparts at Samarkand State University and Tashkent State Technical University. Discussions covered university profiles and disciplinary strengths, and explored area of cooperation in food and light industry research, joint research projects, and academic exchanges.

At Samarkand State University, President Guo held talks with Vice President Akhatov Akmal. At Tashkent State Technical University, President Guo introduced BTBU’s developments in data science, computer science and AI, and information technology. Vice President Shavkat Azimov expressed interest in promoting collaboration on interdisciplinary frontier technologies. Both sides discussed student exchange, joint engineering training, and short-term exchange programs.


From September 25 to 27, President Guo visited Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and Almaty Technological University. At Al-Farabi, the two sides explored cooperation in food nutrition and engineering technology, joint research projects, faculty and student exchanges, and cultural programs. The delegation also visited the university’s history museum, Center for Medicinal Plants, and Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center.


At Almaty Technological University, President Guo met with First Vice President Nurakhmetov Baurzhan Kumargalievich. President Guo emphasized BTBU’s commitment to Belt and Road cooperation. In September 2025, four Kazakh doctoral students commenced exchange studies at BTBU’s School of Food and Health. Both sides agreed to further deepen cooperation in food science and nutrition, implement 2+2 joint-degree programs, and establish a China–Kazakhstan Technology and Innovation Cooperation Center under the Belt and Road framework.
Following the meeting, President Guo and Vice President Nurakhmetov jointly unveiled the China–Kazakhstan Technology and Innovation Cooperation Center. The delegation visited ATU’s food science laboratories and production facilities and engaged with faculty and experts there.
