The delegation from the University of Southern Queensland visited BTBU
On the morning of April 30, a delegation led by Professor Karen Nelson, the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Southern Queensland, Australia, visited BTBU. Guo Jianhua, the President of our university, met with Karen Nelson and her delegation at Fucheng Road Campus.

Guo Jianhua extended a warm welcome to Professor Karen Nelson and her delegation for their visit and exchange. He introduced the development history, talent cultivation, scientific research, and discipline construction of BTBU. At the same time, he presented the concept and practice of “integration of industry and commerce” to President Karen. He stated that BTBU and the University of Southern Queensland share similar advantageous majors. Since the establishment of a cooperative relationship between the two universities, a series of cooperation achievements have been made. He hoped that the two universities could further deepen their cooperation in the future and achieve landmark results in international talent cultivation and international scientific research cooperation.
Karen Nelson expressed her gratitude for Guo Jianhua’s warm reception. She introduced the development history, discipline construction, advantageous majors of the University of Southern Queensland, and the status of the cooperation and exchange programs between the two universities. She pointed out that BTBU is one of the important partners of the University of Southern Queensland. Since the signing of the cooperation agreement, the two universities have had close exchanges and cooperation. She looked forward to further deepening cooperation and exchanges with our university in the fields of food, materials, computer science, and interdisciplinary disciplines, and promoting the implementation of more cooperation programs.
Subsequently, Mao Xinshu and Ren Yi had an in-depth discussion on the programs carried out between BTBU and the University of Southern Queensland and the expansion of relevant subsequent programs. He Dongmeng, the Director of the International Office, Qian Lijun, the Director of the Natural Science Department of the Academy of Scientific Research, and Wang Bei, the Associate Dean of the School of Food and Health, gave detailed introductions on discipline development and international programs.
